Best Fall Painting Projects

While it may not feel like it, thanks to the Northern VA heat, fall has arrived which means the season of leaves, pumpkins, and lattes is upon us! Aside from the great natural décor, fall is the perfect time to knock out some of your outdoor and indoor projects that have been lingering on your to do list.

Here are three of Color Expressions Painting’s favorite fall painting projects.

1 – Touch up your exterior

Before the temperatures start to fall, which would be a nice change, it is time to start thinking about exterior touchups. Exterior painting is best when temperatures are above the 50’s. While homes don’t need an entire repainting, but every few years, there is always time for touchups. Touchups can be essential in extending the life of your current exterior paint job.

In addition to just paint touchups, keep in mind any sealers you have applied and whether they could use some touchups as well.

2 – Paint a room

On those dreary rainy fall days, take time to tackle an indoor project. Fall can be the perfect time to dedicate attention to those few neglected rooms in your home. Maybe you recently moved and have been dealing with original paint colors you just don’t love. Change that now! Or, you’ve had the same color scheme for years and you just feel like a change.

Color Expressions Painting loves being able to refresh and update a room in your home because we know how the right colors can change the feeling of a space.

3 – Paint your fireplace

As we prepare for the winter and fire season, now is the time to make any updates to your existing fireplace. While we do love a standard brick fireplace, we also love the newer trends for painted fireplaces. White brick and dark brick can really add a nice pop to your living space without getting a new fireplace.
